On February 2, the Reserve Bank of Australia announced that the future 5-dollar bank note will feature a new design that will honour the culture and history of the First Australians. This new design will replace the portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The other side of the note will continue to feature the Australian Parliament.

This decision follows consultation with the Australian Government, which supports this change.

The Bank will consult with First Australians in designing the 5-dollar bank note. The new bank note will take a number of years to be designed and printed. [$♫]

Le futur billet australien de 5 dollars rendra hommage aux premiers Australiens

Le 2 février, la Reserve Bank of Australia a annoncé que le futur billet de 5 dollars comportera un nouveau motif qui rendra hommage à la culture et à l’histoire des premiers Australiens. Ce nouveau motif remplacera le portrait de Sa Regrettée Majesté la reine Elizabeth II. Le Parlement australien continuera à figurer sur l’autre au dos du billet.

Cette décision fait suite à une consultation avec le Gouvernement australien, qui soutient ce changement.

La Banque consultera les Premiers Australiens pour la conception du billet de 5 dollars. La conception et l’impression du nouveau billet de banque prendront un certain nombre d’années. [$♫]
